Once there was a princess who had twelve windows in her castle from which she could see her whole kingdom. She didn’t really want to get married. One day, she declared that she would only marry the man who could hide from her.
Many young men tried to hide somewhere in the kingdom, but the princess saw them from the windows and had them beheaded.
There was a young man who saved a fox’s life. The fox promised to help him hide from the princess. It took him to a magical pool where the young man took a dip and became a small sea hare. The sea hare hid in the princess’s hair. When the princess looked out of her windows, she could not see him. When she gave up, the sea hare went back to the pool and changed into his real form. The princess had no choice but to marry him.
