A peasant was talking to his master and other friends. He told them that a mouse had eaten up all his cheese. The master was a rich and proud man. He called the peasant a fool and told him that it was not possible for a mouse to eat cheese. To the peasant’s dismay, everybody agreed with the master. He kept silent.
After a little while, the master said he had rubbed his ploughshares with oil to keep them from rusting but the mice had eaten up all the points. Now the peasant broke out. “How is it that the mice ate up the points of your ploughshare but not my cheese?” But the master and all the others silenced him and said that the master was always right. The poor peasant was very upset and couldn’t find anybody who would agree with him.
