The Monkey and the Dolphin

Once took a monkey accompanied a sailor on a sea journey. A violent storm arose off the coast of Greece and everyone had to swim for their lives.

A dolphin saw the monkey and thought him to be a man. It carried him to the shore. When they arrived near the coast of Athens, the dolphin asked the monkey if he was an Athenian. The monkey replied that he was the crowned prince of Athens who would soon become the king. Then the dolphin asked the monkey if he visited Piraeus, which was the most famous harbour of Athens, often.

The foolish monkey thought that Piraeus was a man and replied that he knew him very well as he was his best friend. The monkey’s lies angered the dolphin and he took the monkey down into the water and drowned him.
